A
Deadly Equation was made for the World
Health Organization
to illustrate the depth of the humanitarian
crisis in Southern Africa. The WHO described
the film as as an "outstanding
success." It was distributed to UK television news networks, international
TV news agencies and the European Broadcasting Union. WhistleStop used
its own field producer and several local camera contacts in the region
to produce the video to coincide with an international donors' conference
in Geneva.

Ur Decision was a collaboration between WhistleStop, our friends at Mouth That Roars and a group of London teenagers. The 30 - minute film looked at the future of Britain's energy resources in the 21st century. The young people researched the subject and shot much of the material themselves. The film was screened on the Community Channel and there are plans to distribute it to schools as a teaching aid.

Livio de Marchi - Artist was a profile of the eccentric Italian sculptor in wood, best known for the life-size works that he drives downs the Grand Canal during the Venice Carnival. The film was syndicated around the world by the long-running magazine programme, Roving Report, for which we have worked in Germany, Holland, Italy, Costa Rica, Cuba and the United States. You can see more of Livio's work at his virtual museum.

Work-Life Balance was made for the London Borough of Camden to promote the advantages of flexible working hours to their employees. The film had a big impact at the conference where it was screened and we have since made two other films for Camden. Work-Life Balance was also used on CD-ROM as an informational tool. Our experience shows that video has become a cost-effective method of communication for local authorities.
